Juxtaposition: the act or an
instance of placing two or more things side by side often to compare or
contrast or to create an interesting effect.
God’s interesting effects:
That the Infinite One would wrap Himself in
flesh and become a baby (Matt 1:20-21).
That the Eternal One would enter time and
space and would become flesh and dwell among us (John 1:14).
That the King of Kings would be born in a lowly
manger (Luke 2:7).
That the angels would announce His birth not
to the powerful or influential or rich but to a group of shepherds and the
night shift ones at that (Luke 2:8-18).
But the juxtapositions didn’t stop with Christmas,
they continued:
That the One who knows all things would grow
in wisdom and stature (Luke 2:52).
That the Ruler of all would become a servant
(Mark 10:45).
That the One who created all things and
holds all things together would become poor for our sake so that by His
poverty, we might become rich (2 Cor 8:9).
That the sinless One would become sin for us
that we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor 5:21).
God’s interesting effects: make those
miraculous, incredible, awesome and mind-blowing effects!
